SAPI Hackathon 2011 (Melbourne)

On 21 November, 2011 by bunny

Hi guys!

Pork ‘n’ Bunny attended the Sensis SAPI Hackathon during the weekend.

The competition requires you to make an Android or iOS app using the Sensis API.  You choose a category (we got Transport) and hack away for 2 days for a cash prize of $10,000!

We made an app called ‘Friend Compass’ where you and your friend meet halfway at a local business to meet up!  It was a stressful 2 days but we made it through and won the ‘People’s Choice Award’ instead which we were very happy about.

See our app we made in the Android Market now (Australia only):  https://market.android.com/details?id=com.porknbunny.friendcompass

Congratulations to Bonobo +1 and everyone else who completed their apps in just under 2 days!  It was pretty intense (some even people dropped out) but everyone did a good job!  Presentations was very fun to watch 🙂

We’re really happy with what we have achieved and met a lot of lovely developers.  We hope to keep in touch with them and hope everyone success in their future Mobile dev ventures!!
